Grandparents ...

When a child is born, so are grandparents. ~Judith Levy

It just hit me ... how important, needed, crucial role a grandparent plays a role in a child's life ... at least my child's life ...

Grandma Carole has dropped plans many times to accommodate a sick grand baby, or my school schedule ...
Grandpa Russel and Grandma Sherry drive down from Wyoming to see Chandler ...
Grandma Cherie McCarty, who is Grandma by soon to be marriage, takes him on my late shifts ...

Thanks to Chandler's GrandPeople ... We love and appreciate you all!

The Football ... The Build A Bear Football ...

Remember when Chandler and I went to Build A Bear and the mandatory purchase he inflicted on me ... well, at least it was money that is going to good use ...

here is the link to the old post if you forgot ...

GrassyTales

Hey, check out my front yard that Mom and Dad bought for me.

Look how cute I am, even from this angle.

Grass ... Neat!

March For Babies ...

Today was the March For Babies ... Mattie was over and it was pretty cold so we bundled both littles and off we went ...

There was a lot to see ... a very tall man ...

Mattie got his face painted ...

... and a balloon hat ...

I couldn't get Mattie to pose for the camera, but he did have a lot of fun.

Milestones ...

Ah, the milestones of life ...
First step and word ...
First day of school ...
First year as a teen ...
Getting a drivers license at 16 ...
Getting to vote at 18 ...
Getting into bars with a legal ID at 21 ...
Thirty.
Getting your first tulip at 31 ...
This is MY first tulip. I own this tulip. It chose my private property to live and grow. I own it. I no longer have to rent my foliage. I, Keena own my yard and this is my first tulip.

Now Accepting Donations ...

I ran out of toilet paper about five days ago and have been refraining from a Costco run to save money for our down payment on our home. I already had these tissues, which ironically probably cost more than t.p. Now that I am a home owner and still poor (refer to the blog below) I am accepting toilet paper donations. I accept UPS, FedX, USPS, house calls, or even drive bys (you don't even have to get out of your car, just huck the t.p. out your window and I will gather them). Toilet paper could be considered a nice house warming gift ... not traditional but useful.

Don't let this happen to you ...

Chatty Keena, Home Owner ...

I closed on my house today, I did not get the keys yet but hopefully later today. I did receive a quenching diet coke and a writers cramp. I had to sign my name and Aston's name about 35 times ... Not only did I have to sign Aston's name but I had to write out the following with every signature, "His attorney in fact"
With Aston working out of the state the title company typed up a power of attorney so that I could sign for him, it worked out great for us other than the cramping.

When the Cat's Away the Mouse Will Play ...

Me and Chandler decided to do some shopping for the new house. He wanted bathroom stuff since he will have his own. So we did what anyone in my shoes would do with their Man Friend out of town, we grabbed Aston's credit card and headed to Target. He picked out a Monkey theme with Giraffe accents for his bathroom and I picked out the worlds coolest coffee maker to match my new kitchen. The coffee maker brews the coffee like normal but keeps the coffee in the device, when you want a cup you just put it up to the maker and press the button with your cup and out it dribbles ... kind of like a soda fountain machine ... but BETTER.

Chandler loves to shop ...
While we were out I got all my hairs cut ... Before ...

After ...

... and Chandler was shopped out.

Adventures at Liberty Park ...

All dressed up and no where to go ... I was in my Easter outfit after attending Sunday brunch at Little America. I did not feel like going home for the day, so asked if we might hit Liberty Park for some entertaining people watching ...

Aunt Erika came over to hang out with us ...

We got to the park, which was very crowded ...

We saw so much ... dogs in Escalades ...

Soldiers in a sandbox ...

Adults barrel rolling down grassy hills ...

Hippies playing lone guitar ...

Hippies dancing to their own beat ...

Me and Aunt Erika just ran out of snacks ...

Little tykes and hula hoops ...

and a drum circle ...

It was a very eventful day for my first drum circle, but little did I know there was more excitement to come. When Mom, Aunt Erika, and I returned home, we sadly discover that we were locked out of the house. Mom found a way in ... she was my hero, until I saw this ...

WOW ...

Oh My, That's a Mighty Big Bib You Have ...

My friend Katie from Maine is in the Philippines teaching this year and last. She picked this bid up for Chandler there around the time he was born ...

He is now big enough to wear it and feeds him self so He needs it ...

But, Katie, as you can see, when it's on, he would rather play.

I believe he thinks He's got a costume on ... He loves either way.
Thanks Katie
