My Cohorts in Coparenting ...

I took in a new roommate, Alex, who came along with his close friend Ashley who is an honorary house-mate. They have been more involved in my Chandler's life than some of my past significant others. Alex has been known to make my morning coffee, get Chandler up and dressed, cook, cook and cook, chip in for groceries and other countless things. Ashley has lent her ear to my venting, tucked in my handsome boy for bed, and shared a bottle of wine or two with me. There is more truth to the statement "It takes a whole village to raise a child"

Another Tuesday ...

Ever since I had my baby boy a year and half after my best friend had her little boy I always looked forward to the day that they would play together. According to one Matthew Taylor, today was the day. The two boys were playing, truly interacting and Mattie comes running over to me and said, "Keena, Chandler is my friend now." It was cute, they are entertaining each other so well, I found myself having a moment to blog.

Its not easy to get a good photo when your subjects are 1.5 and 3.

Dirty Laundry ...

So after a long blogging siesta, I have decided to rejoin the blogger's community ...
The last 6 months have been a very trying time with a compilation of 1 wedding, 2 funerals, 1 lawyer, 1 220 pound learning disability, 1 pending divorce, 1 trip to the clinic for panic attack, 12 vertigo episodes, and many hard decisions.
On the flip side I have had 1 Mom,1 best friend, 1 new roomate, 1 Dad, 1 sister, 1 Chandler, 1 Nate, 1 Jamie, 1 Xanax perscription, and 1 damn good attorney to get me through my rough patch.
Winston Churchill once said, "If you are going to go through hell, keep going."
So I have decided to rejoin the living and get back to the things I love ... one of which was blogging.
I will post some pictures of my handsome boy very soon.

Lost and Lost of Catch Up ...

These pictures are from 6 to 8 weeks ago when Mattie came over for a visit so His Mommy and Daddy could go on a date.

The Boys

The snail that lived no longer after The Mattie dismember it.

Thirsty Mattie!

Mattie diggin' for worms with my kitchen spoon ... notice the shovel right behind him that nobody seemed to use.

Stop and Smell the Roses ...

Me, Aston and Chandler went to a birthday party last weekend in Coalville. We were sitting around enjoying cake and beverages when Chandler got a whiff of something in the air. He was engaging in some serious sniffing for well over 5 minutes. He gave his audience a good laugh.

Grandparents ...

When a child is born, so are grandparents. ~Judith Levy

It just hit me ... how important, needed, crucial role a grandparent plays a role in a child's life ... at least my child's life ...

Grandma Carole has dropped plans many times to accommodate a sick grand baby, or my school schedule ...
Grandpa Russel and Grandma Sherry drive down from Wyoming to see Chandler ...
Grandma Cherie McCarty, who is Grandma by soon to be marriage, takes him on my late shifts ...

Thanks to Chandler's GrandPeople ... We love and appreciate you all!

The Football ... The Build A Bear Football ...

Remember when Chandler and I went to Build A Bear and the mandatory purchase he inflicted on me ... well, at least it was money that is going to good use ...

here is the link to the old post if you forgot ...

GrassyTales

Hey, check out my front yard that Mom and Dad bought for me.

Look how cute I am, even from this angle.

Grass ... Neat!

March For Babies ...

Today was the March For Babies ... Mattie was over and it was pretty cold so we bundled both littles and off we went ...

There was a lot to see ... a very tall man ...

Mattie got his face painted ...

... and a balloon hat ...

I couldn't get Mattie to pose for the camera, but he did have a lot of fun.

Milestones ...

Ah, the milestones of life ...
First step and word ...
First day of school ...
First year as a teen ...
Getting a drivers license at 16 ...
Getting to vote at 18 ...
Getting into bars with a legal ID at 21 ...
Thirty.
Getting your first tulip at 31 ...
This is MY first tulip. I own this tulip. It chose my private property to live and grow. I own it. I no longer have to rent my foliage. I, Keena own my yard and this is my first tulip.

Now Accepting Donations ...

I ran out of toilet paper about five days ago and have been refraining from a Costco run to save money for our down payment on our home. I already had these tissues, which ironically probably cost more than t.p. Now that I am a home owner and still poor (refer to the blog below) I am accepting toilet paper donations. I accept UPS, FedX, USPS, house calls, or even drive bys (you don't even have to get out of your car, just huck the t.p. out your window and I will gather them). Toilet paper could be considered a nice house warming gift ... not traditional but useful.

Don't let this happen to you ...

Chatty Keena, Home Owner ...

I closed on my house today, I did not get the keys yet but hopefully later today. I did receive a quenching diet coke and a writers cramp. I had to sign my name and Aston's name about 35 times ... Not only did I have to sign Aston's name but I had to write out the following with every signature, "His attorney in fact"
With Aston working out of the state the title company typed up a power of attorney so that I could sign for him, it worked out great for us other than the cramping.
